Things about me

My name is Michael Spiegel and I'm a rising senior at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. I major in both physics and mathematics, researching accelerator physics at the Wilson Synchrotron Lab. When I'm not studying or researching, I regularly play guitar and drums, and sing as well.

What I'm doing this summer

At my REU this summer at Montana State University, I'm researching solar physics with Chunming Zhu, more specifically conducting a statistical study on the kinematics of Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) and relating it to magnetic reconnection along the solar surface. More specifics can be found here: here.
