16 August 1999. The active region is in the East, at the left hand side
of the solar image. There is a large cusp visible in SXT, and a sunspot
visible in H alpha. There are several filaments on the disk of the sun
at this time: a large one is obvious down the middle, and also small bit
of filament visible to the right of the sunspot. Neither of these are the
filament associated with the SXT sigmoid. That will grow later....
