my abstract in an entertaining fashion (SOLAR REU 2006) my presentation (html) BEFORE MSU (pre-sequel to my REU 2006) Delighted but yet confused, I was now in a connundrum. For such a long time I had dreamed (maybe even day-dreamed) about this momentus occasion. my first summer REU, a small glimpse into a world that I had so dearly been longing for. Fateful as this day would seem, it was all too in-evitable. My sojourn promised to be an unforgettable one, clearly analogized to that of an old grand-father's folk tale. In the MIDST of it all (the month of June and July) the jargon of dealing with computers; hardly 24 hours after arriving in the very scenic city of Bozeman, MT, I was had my very first IDL tutorial. Angela Desjardin, was the choir master, whilst the rest of us REUs where mere deers in the middle of the street, (at least I was). Something worth to note According to prof. Eric Priest a prominant yet well distinguished professor at the St. Andrew's University in Scotland, constnatly reverberated how this Solar REU and the SOLAR research team at MSU is world class, and in his opinion one of the best 2 solar Physics groups in the country(America) and may be the world. My SUMMER RESEARCH PROGRAM after all the jargon in dealing with IDL (the computer programming language we were mainly using), it came to my attention that I actually had to start doing some work. So, as fate would have it, my mentor was Dr. Petrus Martens , w hose name doesn't need any introduction in both the Solar and Physic community. (talk about a reputation, huh!). I was also working under the supervision of Trae (Henry) Winter, (an aspiring PhD candidate definately bound to follow the path of his mentor, if not surpass him in some latter years come). Because laziness is one of my very distinticvtive character traits, to delve deeply into my actual summer research project I've decided not to type up my project here but I urge to visit this link, my summer research project. In Closing : As the saying goes, all good things come to an end, 'I'm currently in my last week at this program, and the only thing I can say about the program is that, 'my sentiments directly correlate with that of prof. Eric Priest's' this program is awesome, and I definaltely recommend it to any Physics, Math and or Computer Science major.......' 'awesome MSU
