Project: Differential Emission Measure Techniques Explored
Final Presentation
My Project:
This summer I am working on a technique we did not get to last summer:
differential emission measure (DEM) analysis
About Me
I am using the PINTofALE
software created by folks over at CfA. They have a great deal of
documentation about the software. There is a somewhat hard to find
index list of examples here. I found
these to be of particular use:
LINEID,
which is used to identify lines in the spectrum
FITLINES,
which fits Gaussians to the lines that are identified
MCMC_DEM,
which is the program that carries out the DEM analysis
I have had some issues with the documentation in
the basic examples and even the guides that I have links to above, so I
have composed my own guide to this process. It's not perfect because
I've had some problems with carrying out the analysis, but here it is for
what it's worth: PintofAle-HowTo
