Dr. Richard Canfield managed this 2007 research experience for undergraduates
program at Montana State University. Under the guideance of a mentor(s), each
student in the program investigated some area of solar physics through their
research.
In addition to the research conducted by each student, a series of talks were given for the benefit of the students. A lecture series on the programming language IDL was given to help develop these programming skills needed for the summer. Many professors here at MSU gave subsequent talks on various aspects of the sun. Dr. Eric Priest also gave a series of lectures on the Magnetohydrodynamics of the sun.
