It is a single-slit sit-and-stare study that obtains spectra from 550 to 560 A and from 590 to 630 A with a readout-limited 9.7 sec cadence. The exposure time is only 1.5 sec, but to get the cadence down to 9.7 sec we compress the data along the slit into 12 vertical pixels. It is not quite the cadence that you want, but it's getting kind of close. The spectra generally look pretty good. Please let me know if you have any interest in incorporating the CDS PBEAM observations in your high cadence campaign. CDS observations are not season-dependent but we do reserve time periods for other campaigns and observing programs. Often these observations take only part of each day, but occasionally they can take up to two full weeks of continuous observation. We prefer to observe on a fixed schedule, where we choose in advance the week in which we run the campaign. The more notice the better, two weeks in advance is a minimum notice (provided our time is not already allocated). It is possible to declare a particular period as a Target of Opportunity period for your campaign, with the same advance notice as above. The difference is that we will have a backup plan in case the campaign is not called. To summarise this in more practical terms: A sensible scenario for CDS participation in the high-cadence campaign is about one week duration, up to 8 hours/day. The week needs to be chosen in advance. If no suitable target appears, the dates can slip provided they do not run into another long campaign or JOP.
