MM#009 Default Target

Dear Collaborators,

The current visible solar disk is spotless. Target region
NOAA 2770 has almost completed west limb passage.
2770 was the source of three limb occulted A-class
events since the last message. The largest was an A6.9
at 08/16/05:16 UT. The target will switch to the spotless
unnumbered region located in the southeastern quadrant.
There is a double ribbon flare and a B1.2 x-ray event
in progress. The flare is associated with an active/eruptive
filament located on the region's main magnetic inversion line.
Another B-class event is possible after several hours if
the filament reappears.

The position of NOAA 2770 on August 16 at 06:15 UT is:
S30E29 (Solar X = -399", Solar Y = -556")

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and

Regards,

Bill Marquette (Helio Research)
