MM#003 Major Flare Watch

Dear Collaborators,

Target region NOAA 3014 (E-type/beta-gamma-delta)
is slowly decaying and only produced minor C-class
events since the last message. Its magnetic delta
configuration is weakening but the region is maintaining
its large somewhat complex sunspot group. New flux
emergence in 3014 is needed to increase the probability
of larger events. An isolated >=M event is still possible
in the next 24 hour period.

The position of NOAA 3014 on May 23 at 10:45 UT is:
N23W42 (Solar X = 586"< Solar Y = 391")

See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and

for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.

Regards,

Bill Marquette (Helio Research)
