Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity remains at a moderate-high level. Several flares were
produced since the last message, the largest being an M3.5 from a
newly numbered active region, NOAA 13801 at 03:31 UT today. NOAA 13796
remains classified as a beta-gamma type region but has shown a slight
reduction in area. The Major Flare Watch will be extended for now with
NOAA 13796 as the target region, attention should also be paid to NOAA
13801 as it develops further. Further C-class activity is expected,
with a slight chance for an isolated >M5 event in the next 24-48
hours.
The position of NOAA 13796 on 23-August-2024 at 07:30 UT is:
S02E08, (-132",-147")
