New HMI Science Nuggets are available at http://hmi.stanford.edu/hminuggets,
featuring the following topic
#7 "Measuring the Solar Radius with HMI during the Venus Transit of 2012"
contributed by Sebastien Couvidat
The Venus transit of 2012 allowed us to measure the solar radius around
6173Å with HMI: we obtained a value of 959.58″ at 1 AU, with a systematic
uncertainty larger than 0.27″.
We invite those who use HMI data for their research, or whose research is
closely related to HMI science objectives, to contribute to the HMI science
nuggets. -- SDO/HMI team
