The free eclipse app "Eclipse Camera 2019"

This is just a reminder that this app exists, both for IOS and for Android,
and that it can be used to get valuable data from timing C2 and C3. The GPS
capabilities of the mobile phones, plus the existence of the very precise
Kaguya/LRO lunar data, should make this the most precise measurement yet
of the solar radii. The more data the better, and so everybody is encouraged
to let their mobile phone work on this effort. We are hoping for heavy
redundancy to let us approach 1 msec timing precision in the mean.

1) Get the app "Eclipse Camera 2019'. Check it out and identify Equipment
Settings -> Equipment "phone only". Locate the "Eclipse Image Capture"
   feature to be prepared.
2) Orient your phone so that the front camera sees the Sun. This can be
quite approximate. Cover it to keep from overheating.
3) One minute before C2 (the app will tell you within a second or two,
depending upon your GPS location), initiate Capture Mode and uncover
the camera. The app will also provide an audible signal prior to C2
   as a reminder.
4) Leave the camera alone to do its thing through C3.
5) When you return to Internet range, follow the app's instructions about
   upload.

It is also possible to use an external lens with the app. One favorite one
is the Huatop 20x (available on Amazon). This will take interesting coronal
images and also resolve individual Baily's Beads.

This is an outgrowth of the 2017 Megamovie program. See URLs eclipsemega.movie
and https://eclipsecamera.com for more information.
