The graph on the left is of flux vs. time(julian days).  The graph on the right is of area vs. time(julian days).
Over several days it is expected that the flux/area should increase and then begin to decrease as the region
begins to decay.  In the flux plot this is not seen since the Haleakala Stokes Polarimeter does not observe
the entire active region.  For this region it does not observe the complete amount of flux emerging from
the region.  Using the area data for NOAA we are looking at the entire active region.
