HI! Welcome to my Web Page! I am a student at the University
of Arizona, and I spent the summer of 2005 in beautiful Bozeman Montana studying
solar flares.
My REU project involved looking at the dynamics of a flare. I analyzed
data from three instruments: RHESSI, TRACE, and MDI. I then used
IDL SolarSoftware to combine these sets of data and try to grasp how one
particular flare, RHESSI flare 3102929, developed over the course of about
30 minutes.
For more information about my project, please visit the web pages below:
Temporal Development--This
page includes a lightcurve and a description of the time evolution of RHESSI
flare 3102929.
RHESSI Images--This
page includes a number of RHESSI images, as well as speculation as to what
may be going on in each.
MDI Images--This page
is comprised of magnetograms, which show the magnetic activity outlining
RHESSI flare 3102929.
TRACE Images--This
page contains X-ray data obtained by the TRACE satellite.
Overlays--This page is
made of several overlays of the images from the above pages, and is particularly
useful in showing how flare 3102929 evolves.
REU 2005 Presentation--This is the link
to my REU Presentation, however due to techincal difficulties it is not formatting
properly.
