Week 3

During the beginning of this week I experimented with different color scalings so that the videos would be as detailed as possible. Some of the scalings made the images appear much too dim, while others caused the images to become saturated, both of which are problematic. I then moved on to classifying the explosive events based on the spectra (from the left part of the video) and the morphology (from the right part). The spectral classification depended on whether the lines were red-shifted, blue-shifted, both, sheared, or alternating. Morphologically, the events were classified as being in loops of the magnetic field, compact events, at the footpoints of a loop, or more complex than any of these.
