:Product: 20010730RSGA.txt :Issued: 2001 Jul 30 2200 UTC # Prepared jointly by the U.S. Dept. of Commerce, NOAA, # Space Environment Center and the U.S. Air Force. # Joint USAF/NOAA Report of Solar and Geophysical Activity SDF Number 211 Issued at 2200Z on 30 Jul 2001 IA. Analysis of Solar Active Regions and Activity from 29/2100Z to 30/2100Z: Solar activity was at low levels due to two C-class events during the period. A C4 x-ray flare occurred at 30/0834 UTC. Although optically uncorrelated, EIT imagery shows that the probable flare location was newly numbered Region 9562 (N05E70). Region 9561 (S13E63) was also numbered today. An optically uncorrelated C6 flare occurred at the end of the period, at 30/2043 UTC. A Type II radio sweep (with a velocity of 700 km/s) was associated with this flare. Overall, the disk and limbs were mostly quiet and stable. IB. Solar Activity Forecast: Solar activity is expected to remain at very low to low levels. IIA. Geophysical Activity Summary 29/2100Z to 30/2100Z: The geomagnetic field was at quiet to unsettled conditions. IIB. Geophysical Activity Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be at quiet to unsettled conditions. III.
