Images of Solar Total Eclipse in 1999
In 1999, there occurred a solar total eclipse, whose totality path
went across many Europian and mid-East countries. The images shown
in below are those observed in Turkey, by the obervation team from
Japan, on August 11, 1999.
- the continuum (white light) coroana (by Meisei University, Japan)
- (a) the green line corona (530.3nm) at the NW quadrant.
(b) the red line (637.4nm) corona of the same region.
(c) the yellow line (569.4nm) corona of the same region,
and (d) the continuum corona (around 610nm) of the same region.
The green line comes from the coronal plasma of 2 million Kelvin(MK).
Likewise, the red line comes from 1 MK plasma, and the yellow line
comes from 3.5MK plasma. The continuum light, on the other hand,
represents the total density of the coronal electrons integrated
along the line of sight. (by Koyoto University, Japan)

enhancement algorithm (Octo-directional Maxima of Convexities).
(a) enhanced loop structures of the green line corona.
(b) enhanced loops of the red line corona.
(c) enhanced loops of the continuum corona.
