Presentation Title: | The Max Millennium Program of Solar Flare Research |
Author(s): | Ryan Milligan |
Abstract:
The Max Millennium Program for Solar Flare Research has supported the solar flare community for over 25 years. Its goal is to help understand particle acceleration and explosive energy release during solar flares through coordinated observations, data analysis, and theory. In this talk I will give an overview of the history of the Max Millennium program, introduce the current Max Millennium Chief Observers, describe the various MM Observing Programs, Major Flare Watch criteria, and a give brief evaluation of how successful MFW calls have been over the past two solar cycles. I will also discuss how we propose to adapt the program as we look to Solar Cycle 25 and beyond.
