Abstract:
Solar white-light flares (WLFs) are a special kind of flares showing an enhancement in the optical continuum. Since the first WLF (i.e., the Carrington event) reported in 1859, there have been a large number of studies on WLFs by using the observational data from ground- and space-based telescopes. In the presentation, I will talk about the very recent two-year studies of WLFs observed by two Chinese space missions --- the Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory (ASO-S) and the Chinese Hα Solar Explorer (CHASE). Their joint observations with IRIS and some preliminary analyses on WLFs are also presented.
