PHYSICS COMPUTER LAB The lab is in EPS 230. There is a four-button combination lock which can be used to access the room after hours. See me for the combination. Student computer accounts: The MSU account basically gives students the following: 1. An email account with great web browser access. (It is preferable for a number of reasons for students to use the MSU email address rather than other accounts like yahoo.com which are often blocked by antispam software). 2. MSU network account which enables students to access all the computer lab computers on campus (4 labs with over 300 PCs). 3. 'Z drive' - a personal network drive with up to 20Mb of storage for saving work. The MSU account can also be used to log onto any computers in the Physics domain The easiest way to set all this up, if you have web access, is to go to MSU homepage - Current students dropdown - Mymail@MSU option - Mymail account setup button. Follow the instructions. If you do not have web access, account setup can be done from a computer in any of the student labs by following the instructions at http://greywulff.msu.montana.edu/usapage/GSL1.pdf This page is found via the "Student Lab" page at http://greywulff.gsl.montana.edu/cgi-bin/usapage/index.cgi?section=usa Other relevant links: Current Students homepage at http://www.montana.edu/level2/currentstudents.php ITC homepage at http://www.montana.edu/wwwitc/ (note that the link, bottom of ITC homepage, "starting your free email account" is INCORRECT and will be removed very soon).
