Advisor: Dr. John Sample
This Summer I have joined a team of MSU undergraduates on designing the Light and Fast TGF Recorder (LAFTR). LAFTR will fly 15 km above lightning storms and detect Terrestrial Gamma-Ray Flashes(TGF's). TGF's are extraordinarily bright flashes of gamma and x-ray radiation produced from within a thundercloud. Our project is aimed at discovering how TGF's are produced and what model most accurately describes them.
