Data and Uncertainty
Data
-
Imaging Vector Magnetogram at the MEES Solar Observatory
in Hawaii
-
512x512 CCD with a resolution of 1.1 arcseconds
-
80 individual magnetograms of AR8210 spanning 4 hours with
a cadence of three minutes
-
I used 15 time averaged magnetograms to reduce noise and
to account for solar oscillations
-
For each magnetogram I have the x, y, and z components
of the magnetic field (B) on the photosphere
Uncertainty
-
Used a gaussian fit on the distribution of Bz and Bt
-
Calculated the Bz and Bt uncertainty
at each time finding it to be relatively small
Mean three sigma error: Bz=28
Bt=38
