A small flux ratio (MC/AR) may suggest that the magnetic cloud does not
originate in the "core" of the active region; this may have implications as to the nature of eruptions.
The number of turns for each magnetic cloud is greater than one whereas the
greatest number of turns for any of these active regions was less than
one.
Check out the Grand Daddy prominence, extending only some 200,000 km from the sun and look at all of those turns!
Although we saw less than one complete turn in each of the active regions used in our calculations, this prominence seems to have added turns
throughout the course of its eruption.

The coronal structure does not just lift off as a magnetic cloud; this is a
quantitative extension of Bob Leamon's qualitative result.
We hope that this sheds some light on explaining whether the flux rope
is formed in the process of a CME (by magnetic reconnection, for
instance), or if it exists in the corona (or chromosphere)
prior to eruption, when it is somehow released.
