I
made this talk for my flute seminar and
later I gave it in the music seminar for the music major students the
public in general. While I was making it, I
realized that finding Colombian music and images is very
hard: There are very few of them, and usually in webpages
unrelated
to Colombian music. This lack of information is my main drive
behind this effort. Because of this difficulty, I took the
pictures I used from sites that have no direct relationship with the
Colombian music: Some come from Blogs, others from musical instrument
catalogs, others come from fliers funded by the Colombian government
for the diffusion of culture and others from the covers of musical
albums. The music comes from my
personal collection.
If any of the pictures or songs belongs to the
reader, I will not have any problem with removing it and looking for a
different one. If anyone wants to use the images, text or
music of this presentation I want to mention that the diffusion of the
Colombian Music is the main goal of this webpage. Our music is
definitely something I'm proud of, and I think that through it we can
show other faces of Colombia
that are generally unknown by many people. All I ask is
that if you can, give me credit for making it. If by any
chance the reader is an specialist in music, history and/or sociology I
totally appreciate and welcome comments and suggestions. For any
of this things don't hesitate to write me to
. Finally I wanted
to remind you: Please do not hesitate to
raise the volume of the different samples so that the music reaches
easily to your soul, but if you think you have heard enough of a sample
please
stop it.
