Triple Tree Hike

On Saturday, June 17, I went on a hike with six of my friends (Julia, Callum, Jessica, Bryan, and Scott) to Triple Tree, a little less than ten minutes outside of Bozeman. We first hiked up to a small peak and spent a few minutes looking at the view. Then the rest of the group went up to a higher peak - the actual Triple Tree peak. (I decided to save my knees and legs by staying at the lower peak and then hiking down to meet them at the base of the other trail.) It was fun and very beautiful!

I didn't take a lot of pictures - I have a couple pictures of the view, one of a mountainside covered in wildflowers, and a lot of this really cute dog who ran along with us for part of the trail. On the way to meet the rest of the group, I saw a female deer and several chipmunks, but I didn't take pictures of them. It was nice to walk by myself alongside a stream near the base of the second trail; you could hear lots of birdsong, running water, and the rustling of the birch leaves above. You could also hear the rest of my friends shouting as they ran down the second mountain (a woman walking past me commented, "It sounds like they have a lot of college left in them!").

A dog romping on a mountain trail This is the dog we met! I don't know what his name was but he was very cute and friendly. Also very wet and dirty.
The view from the top of the first trail This is the view from the top of the first trail we went on. You could see the Montana State campus from up there. It took about 45 minutes to climb.
Some of the mountain wildflowers. I went partway up the second trail before turning back, and most of it looked like this.
