Simultaneous X-ray and mm/submm solar flares observations View all project descriptions by submitter

Jean-Pierre Raulin Submitted: 17-Mar-2003 12:22

Three solar flares were observed by RHESSI on 03-05-2002 (NOAA 9934 GOES Class C3.9), 27-05-2002 (NOAA 9957 GOES Class M2.0) and 09-09-2002 (NOAA 0105 GOES Class M2.1), and simultaneously by the new Submillimeter Solar telescope (SST) at 212 GHz and 405 GHz. The millimeter/submillimeter activity is characterized by fast temporal structures. We are currently comparing the time profiles, including with different RHESSI energy bands in order to understand the link between the flare emissions at both frequencies.
