Coronal particle dynamics View all project descriptions by submitter

Hugh Hudson Submitted: 06-Feb-2008 09:25

We intend to study particle transport in the adiabatic approximation in model coronal magnetic fields, initially using the Schrijver-Derosa PFSS machinery for convenience. There are many implications of particle storage in the corona, as originally suggested long ago in the 'proton event' context (H. Elliot, G. Newkirk). The extensive data RHESSI is providing on coronal hard X-ray sources suggests one of the applications of this modeling.
