We have been looking at correlations between the spectal hardness, flux, and separation rate of HXR footpoints in a number of M4+ RHESSI events. In the arcade reconnection model, one would expect intervals of high footpoint separation rate, representing a high reconnection rate, to be associated with high particle fluxes; this does not appear to be the case. We have confirmed that the correlation between HXR intensity and spectral hardness is maintained to timescales at least down to 10s.
