MSU and Hinode

The newest mission in the solar constellation is Hinode. Known as "Solar-B" prior to launch, Hinode is a follow-on to the very successful Yohkoh ("Solar-A") mission. MSU is a part of the Mission Operations and Data Analysis team for Hinode's X-Ray Telescope (XRT). The XRT was constructed by the Solar & Stellar X-ray Group at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

MSU's Co-investigator on the Hinode/XRT is Prof. David McKenzie, and other MSU Solar Group members working on XRT include Dr. Keiji Yoshimura, Dr. Junho Shin, and graduate student Sabrina Savage.
