The Hard X-Ray Properties of Eruptive and Non-Eruptive Flares View all project descriptions by submitter

Hilary Kay Submitted: 28-Feb-2003 09:12

The soft X-ray properties of solar flares, such as peak temperature and emission measure, have been found to be affected by the presence of an accompanying CME. We are extending this work to look for systematic differences in the timing of hard X-ray emission and spectral hardness for RHESSI events both with and without associated CMEs, with a view to understanding how the energy release mechanism may be affected.
