Photometric accuracy and background modeling of RHESSI imaging and spectrocopy View all project descriptions by submitter

Markus J. Aschwanden Submitted: 14-Feb-2003 09:28

We compare the photometric accuracy of spectra and images obtained with the {sl Ramaty High Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager (RHESSI)} spacecraft during the 2002-Feb-20 flare. We measure the total photon flux in different spectral energy ranges and compare it with the total photon flux contained in images reconstructed with various algorithms, such as {sl clean}, {sl pixon}, and {sl forward-fitting}. We compare also the spectra of individual hard X-ray sources in different imaging algorithms and discuss various background components and issues of image fidelity.
