The Study of Loop-top Hard X-ray Sources View all project descriptions by submitter

Jun Sato Submitted: 26-Sep-2002 10:31

The Yohkoh HXT has revealed an existence of loop-top hard X-ray source above the soft X-ray loop. This observation indicates that an energetic process occurs above the loop and therefore it is significantly important to study this region. In 1998-April-21, a strong LDE flare occurred and showed the complicated structure of hard X-ray sources as unexpected. The loop-top region is still mysterious and RHESSI achieves higher dynamic range of the imaging than that of the HXT. Therefore, I study the loop-top region of solar limb flares using one of MEM imaging methods like MEM-Sato.

Participants: Jun Sato

Project Status: A brief analysis of a solar limb flare was shown in SPD. Go to main RHESSI project descriptions page  Comparison of Hard X-ray Source Structure as a Function of Energy  Edit Entry  Submitter's Homepage
