Project

This project involves the imaging and analysis of past solar flares in the hard X-rays using data from the RHESSI spacecraft. The final goal is to explore the relationship between the spatial and spectral properties of magnetic reconnection in solar flares.

Background

I am entering my second year studying physics and mathematics at Macalester College in Saint Paul, MN. In my spare time I run, dance, dream about getting my private pilot's license, and support Minnesota United FC.

My prior research experience has been in extragalactic astronomy. In spring 2017 I examined the neutral gas properties of galaxies in contribution to the larger Arecibo Pisces-Perseus Supercluster Survey. I also participated in a study imaging and analyzing active dwarf galaxies UGC 11411 and UGC 8245 using VLA HI 21 cm data.
