Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a moderate level. Target region NOAA 13654 grew in sunspot area and number of spots since the last message, adding penumbrae to its trailing polarity to be classified as a beta/D-type sunspot group. This region did not produce any more significant flares in the period. In contrast, some low M-class flares were produced by both NOAA 13638 (a beta/B-type sunspot group, with an M1.8 on 24-Apr-2024 at 02:30 UT) and NOAA 13645 (a beta-gamma/D-type sunspot group, with an M1.7 and an M1.4 on 24-Apr-2024 at 00:13 UT and 12:07 UT, respectively). The default target switches back to NOAA 13645 as it rotates up to the South West limb. Additional low M-class flares are probable over the following 24-hour period, with a chance for a >M5 flare.
The position of NOAA 13645 on 24-Apr-2024 at 20:00 UT is:
S08W75 , ( 913", -112" )
