Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has reached a high level. The largest event since the last message was an X1.1 flare at 07:08 UT produced by NOAA 13936. This region also produced the most low-M flares today. It has displayed the separation of its leading spots and retained a beta-delta/E-type magnetic configuration in the period, with the emergence of additional spots. Yesterday’s target NOAA 13938 was only a source of a C7.3 flare. Today the Major Flare Watch shall switch to 13936 from 13938. More low-M activity is expected, with a good chance for another >M5 flare in the next 24-48 hours.
The position of NOAA 13936 on 29-Dec-2024 at 12:30 UT is:
N13W36 (560", 256")
