Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has continued at a moderate level since the last message. A number of flares were produced over the last 24 hours, the largest being an M5.1 from NOAA 13800 at 20:08 UT yesterday. NOAA 13796 has remained relatively quiet since the last message, producing an M1.6 at 00:02 UT today. NOAA 13800 has been newly classified as a beta-gamma type region. The Major Flare Watch will be extended and the target region will switch to NOAA 13800 as this region has produced a number of M-class flares in the last 24 hours. Further M-class activity is possible with a chance for an additional >M5 event in the next 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 13800 on 24-August-2024 at 07:30 UT is:
S28E10, (-145",-544")
