Solar activity remains at a background level. The target region NOAA 12696 has been classified as a beta/C-type sunspot group. 12696 is mostly unchanged and no significant events are expected in the following 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 12696 on January 17 at 08:30 UT is: S13E07 (-116", -140")
