Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a low level. Target region NOAA 12778 has grown in spot area and number of spots since the last message, and has increased in classification complexity to a beta-gamma/ D-type sunspot group. A new magnetic flux region is emerging very close to the North East of NOAA 12778 and it is already displaying small spots. NOAA 12778 has continued to produce B-class activity in the past 24 hours as well as the largest flare of the period, a C1.1 on 28-Oct-2020 at 02:00 UT. More C-class activity is very likely in the next 24 hour period, especially if the new flux region continues to rapidly emerge and interact with NOAA 12778.
The position of NOAA 12778 on 28-Oct-2020 at 18:30 UT is:
S19W40 , ( 589", -371" )
