Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a very low level. NOAA region 11686 was the source of the largest flare in the last 24 hours (a C1.5 flare on 7-Mar-2013), but has now rotated to the limb. NOAA 11689 shows signs of decay in its trailing and intermediate spots, while the leading spot has become more compact. This region is classified as a beta/E-type sunspot group, but has produced no flares in the previous 24 hours (the B7.3 flare on 7-Mar-2013 at 01:18 UT has since been attributed to NOAA 11684). The target will change to a new region that has been rapidly emerging in the North East quadrant over the previous ~12 hours. B-class activity is probable, with a small chance for low C-class events.
The approximate position of this region on 8-Mar-2013 at 14:00 UT is:
