Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has slightly decreased since the last message. The largest event since the last message was an M5.0 flare at 16:45 UT yesterday from the target region NOAA 13936 (N12W62), which retains a beta-gamma-delta configuration and increases in the sunspot area and number of spots. 13936 also produced another five M-class and over ten C- class flares in the period. Today the Major Flare Watch shall remain in effect with NOAA 13936. Additionally, NOAA 13927 (S08W89), 13939 (S17W01), and 13932 (S16W69) were the sources of several low M-class flares in the period. Further low-M activity is expected, with a chance for additional >M5 flares in the following 24-48 hours.
The position of NOAA 13936 on 31-Dec-2024 at 12:30 UT is:
N12W62 (844",226")
