Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity remains at a high level. The largest event since the last message was an X1.5 flare at 04:01 UT today, produced by the target region NOAA 13936 (N13W46). This region has now developed into a beta-gamma-delta configuration and produced another six M-class flares in the period, including an M7.1 yesterday. Today the Major Flare Watch will remain in effect with NOAA 13936. Please note that NOAA 13932 (S17W55, beta-gamma/D-type) produced an "X1.1" flare during the decay phase of the X1.5 flare. Additionally, NOAA 13932,13939 (S17E15), and 13941 (S06E21) produced several low M-class flares in the period. Further low-M activity is expected, with a good chance for additional >M5 flares from various regions in the following 24-48 hours.
The position of NOAA 13936 on 30-Dec-2024 at 08:30 UT is:
N13W46 (685",252")
