Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has reached a high level. The largest events since the last message were two consecutive high-M flares from two adjacent active regions, NOAA 13766 and 13764. The two flares include an M7.9 at 01:39 UT and an M9.9 at 01:53 UT today eruptive with dimming and coronal waves. 13766 has developed to be a beta/D-type configuration and 13764 (S05E04) has been classified as an alpha/H-type sunspot group, both of which are surrounded by the other three active regions (NOAA 13763, 13765, and 13767). At this time, we are implementing a Major Flare Watch on NOAA 13766 (with NOAA 13764 in the field of view). Yesterday’s target region NOAA 13762 (beta-gamma-delta/F-type, S12W34) was a source of three low-to-mid M-class flares. Further low-M activities are expected with a good chance for another>M5 flare in the following 24-48 hours.
