MM#003 Major Flare Watch
Dear Collaborators,
The active region complex target NOAA 2993/2994 was the source of several minor C-class events and an isolated M1.0 at 04/19/04:50 UT. The flare was located in the southern portion of 2993 and the northern portion of 2994 in a cluster of small spots. Both 2993 and 2994 are now classified as having beta-gamma magnetic configurations. The largest event since the last message was an isolated M1.9 at 04/18/17:24 UT produced by the small southwestern limb region NOAA 2992. We will continue the Major Flare Watch on 2993/2994 for another 24 hour period. An event =>M5 is still possible.
The position of NOAA 2993/2994 on April 19 at 14:45 UT is: N17E45 (Solar X = -648", Solar Y = 338")
