Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has slightly decreased since the last message. The largest event in the period was an M4.2 flare at 02:14 UT today, produced by the target region NOAA 13947 (N10E35). This region has now developed into a beta-gamma-delta configuration, with further increases in both sunspot area and number of spots. 13947 also produced three mid-to-high C-class flares and four low M-class flares in the period, including an M4.1 at 09:09 UT today. The Major Flare Watch shall remain in effect for this region. Further low-M activity is expected, with a chance for >M5 major flares in the coming days.
The position of NOAA 13947 on 5-Jan-2025 at 12:30 UT is:
N10E35 (-552",218")
