Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a moderate level. Target region NOAA 13190 was relatively stable in terms of sunspot area and complexity since the last message, remaining classified as a beta-gamma/E-type sunspot group and producing just a single flare in the period - a C7.3 on 19-Jan-2023 at 05:26 UT. Newly numbered region NOAA 13196 emerged yesterday to the East of NOAA 13192 and has already produced three C-class and two M-class events, the largest being an M1.7 flare on 19-Jan-2023 at 10:06 UT (which was also the largest magnitude flare in the period). The target will now change to NOAA 13196 as it is still emerging magnetic flux, and there are another two small spot regions that are in the process of emerging near to it in the North East quadrant. Additional C-class flares are expected over the next 24 hours, with a good chance for more M-class activity.
