Dear Collaborators,
The level of solar activity is at a low-to-moderate. Target region NOAA 13451 grew slightly since the last message, being reclassified into a beta-gamma/E-type group. This region again produced a number of C-class flares in the period but the largest flare (an M1.7 on 7-Oct-2023 at 17:57 UT, just after yesterday's email was sent) came from NOAA 13460, an numbered sunspot group at that time. NOAA 13460 was initially designated as an alpha/A-type at the start of the UT day, but it was at a very early point in its emergence - 13460 now appears to be a beta-gamma/D-type configuration. Additional C-class activity is expected over the next 24 hours, with a good chance for another low M-class flare.
The position of NOAA 13460 on 8-Oct-2023 at 18:00 UT is:
S11E25 , ( -401", -277" )
