Dear Collaborators,
The level of solar activity is at a low-to-moderate. The target region NOAA 12936 has shown mixed signs of decay and new sunspot development, remaining classified as a beta/E-type sunspot group. This region continued producing only low C-class activity since the last message, so the Max Millennium coordinated observing plan #003 (Region Likely To Produce A Major Flare) will cease at this time. Although NOAA 12936 is expected to produce additional C-class activity, the target region switches to NOAA 12940. This region is classified as a beta-gamma/D-type sunspot group and has been the source of several low-to-mid C-class flares since the last message. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance for a low M-class flare.
The position of NOAA 12940 on 2-Feb-2022 at 23:30 UT is:
N18E20 , ( -320", 394" )
