Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has continued at a moderate-high level. Several flares were produced over the last 24 hours, the largest being an M1.2 from NOAA 13485 at 22:04 UT yesterday. NOAA 13842 has now reached an area of 710 μh and continues to show significant sunspot dynamism. Equally, NOAA 13844, another beta-gamma-delta region, has shown significant development in the last 24-48 hours, reaching an area of 660 μh and also showing very dynamic sunspot behaviour. Both of these regions are approaching the southwest limb. The Major Flare Watch will remain active with NOAA 13842 as the target region, but close attention should also be paid to NOAA 13844.
The position of NOAA 13842 on 5-October-2024 at 11:30 UT is:
S14W29, (452",-323")
