MM#003 Major Flare Watch
Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
NOAA 2242 is maintaining its E-type/beta-gamma-delta magnetic configuration with a complex E-W inversion line. 2242 has only managed to produce C-class activity since the major M8.7 event on the 17th. NOAA region 2241, S10E12, is also a complex E-type/beta-gamma-delta region with an E-W magnetic inversion line. Both regions have the potential to produce a major flare in the next 24 to 48 hours but 2242 will continue to be the target region.
The position of NOAA 2242 on December 18 at 12:30 UT is: S18E12 (Solar X = 129", Solar Y = -281")
