Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has continued at a high level since the last message. Target region NOAA 13768 has now rotated over the South West limb, with some overlying loops visible above the limb. This region produced two ~M1 flares and the largest magnitude flare in the period - an M7.4 at 04:23 UT today. The Major Flare Watch shall remain in effect with NOAA 13768 for a final 24 hours, as it rotates fully out of view beyond the South West limb. Additionally, NOAA 13774 (beta- gamma/E-type) produced five ~M1 flares during the period. Some other active regions (NOAA 13765, 13772, 13766, 13764, and 13773) also produced M-class flares. Further M-class activity is expected, with a good chance for additional >M5 flares from various regions in the next 24-48 hours.
The position of NOAA 13768 on 2-Aug-2024 at 11:30 UT is:
S16W91 (908",-257")
