Dear Collaborators,
The level of solar activity is extremely low. Yesterday's target region has been designated as NOAA 12858 and was classified as a beta/C-type sunspot group, but only produced A-class activity. A region lies beyond the North East limb but its mid-to-high-lying loops are currently visible. This new region produced the largest flare since the last message (a B2.1 on 19-Aug-2021 at 15:49 UT), but this was clearly a footpoint occulted event. This new region becomes the target, and additional B-class flares are expected in the following 24-hour period.
The approximate position of this region on 19-Aug-2021 at 21:30 UT is:
N23E90 , ( -873", 368" )
